The Victoria Baths

June 4th 2008 04:15
Victoria Baths

The Victoria Baths in Manchester is a multi-coloured brickwork and teracotta building designed as a prestigious baths by Henry Price.

No expense was spared in the design and construction of this opulent building as evident by the glazed tiles from floor to ceiling and decorative stained glass. For 86 years the Victoria Baths provided both essential and leisure facilities. Private baths and a laundry were housed there along with three swimming pools and the Turkish Baths.

The Victoria Baths was closed in 1993 due to wear and tear but remains open to tours of the facility.
