October 8th 2007 06:00
Stereophonics

Welsh band Stereophonics were formed in the early 90s as a teenage cover band known as 'Tragic Love Company', a name inspired by their favourite bands Tragically Hip, Mother Love Bone and Bad Company.

Soon after the renamed themselves The Stereophonics and later, dropped "The" to be simply known as Stereophonics/

The BRIT award recipients gained popularity with their single "Local Boy in the Photograph" and caused controversy with their Just Enough Education to Perform album of 2001 which included "Mr. Writer", a song which voiced their disdain for of journalists and the media.

They will be touring the UK in November and will perform the hits from their latest album, Pull the Pin, which is due for release this month.
