Caribbean Carnival of Manchester

The annual Caribbean Carnival of Manchester is a vibrant celebration of Caribbean music, dance, theatre and costume. This year's carnival, held over two days in Alexandra Park, will celebrate the Caribbean tradition of the steel pan.
The venue will be brimming with the infectious rhythms of song and dance as the carnival procession (16 Aug) winds its way through the crowds with steel bands, floats with DJs, dance troupes with carnival queens and princesses, elaborate costumes and folklore characters.
The parade (16 Aug) will leave Alexandra Park at 1pm and will wind its way along Yarburgh Street, Withington Road, Chorlton Road, Stretford Road, Royce Road, Bonsall Street, Boundary Lane, Greenheys Lane, Denmark Road, Lloyd Street, Claremont Road and back to Alexandra Park.
