Curator, Sandra Martin has recently published a new book 'Valette: A French Impressionist in Manchester' with Scala. This book and the talk explores drawings and paintings by Adolphe Valette from private collections and Manchester Art Gallery's collection.

The French Impressionist painter whose pupils included L.S. Lowry is best known for his ambitious work including Albert Square 1910 which shows the busy city square with its Victorian Town Hall and Albert Memorial bathed in fog.
